Hello! I’m Sharelle Byars Moranville, and I’m pleased to meet you. By way of introduction . . . I’m a fiction writer, an amateur photographer, and a careless (but wildly enthusiastic) gardener.
Let’s start with the gardener. I live in the deep quiet of southern Illinois, in the middle of corn and bean fields, cow pastures, and woods. Blue birds flit through the yard of my tiny hundred-year-old cottage, which is inside (I kid you not) a picket fence. Old maples shade the yard. I think of it all as the “garden.” Trees, flower beds, grass, wildflowers, shrubs, rocks. Even the sky. I love working outdoors and coming in dirty and tired at the end of the day.
Next, the photographer: I love to photograph the garden and nature in general. What interests me most is the constant change of light and shadow—season by season, minute by minute. Capturing a crocus at the exact second the Universe seems to be celebrating it gives me joy, and is why passers-by sometimes see me running out the door in my pajamas, clutching the camera..
And finally, the fiction writer. I love to write—to create characters who live on after the book is closed, I love exploring the inner lives of characters. Please check out my books if you’re interested. The audience ranges from very young (a family lap book) through intermediate readers to young adult.
And that’s a little about me.
So glad to have met you! If you want to contact me directly, you may do so through the contact link or on Facebook.
Wishing you—always— the pleasure of a good book!
